Chiang Mai Private Treks
Our Chiang Mai private treks are the best treks in Northern Thailand. The duration of the treks varies from one day to six days.
Upon arrival in Chiang Mai you will receive detailed information about the trek and about the tribal villages you will be visiting. We also provide you with you with some sentences in the local hilltribe language. It’s fun to practice these when you are in the village.
Our guide will visit you the night before you embark on your trekking to answer all your questions. He will bring with him a menu with choices of food for the meals that are included. We can cater to special diets such as gluten free, vegan, etc..Drinking water is included. Drinking enough water in the tropics is essential. We will also provide fruit of the season during the trek.
We will provide all the necessary items on this trekking such as a clean sheet bag (sleeping bag in the cold season), clean pillowsheets, mosquito net, towel, toiletpaper, flashlight, etc..
Elephant shows and elephant rides are not included in our treks. We can add them to most of the treks if you wish. The extra costs you can pay on the spot.

This is the best and most interesting day trek you can make out of Chiang Mai. Not much driving is involved and the forest and the views are beautiful. You will meet the Hmong, who are originally from Southern China. Today you will visit their villages and learn about their history, their customs and traditions and about their current way of life. Cultivation of opium was very much part of the Hmong way of life. In 1969 King Bhumibol Adulyadej visited Doi Pui. He was concerned that the slash and burn practice of opium production was, apart from being illegal, destroying watershed areas.

This two day trip takes place very close to Chiang Mai but really brings you back in time. You will stay at a still very traditional Hmong village and really take part in village life. The hiking is absolutely awesome. A local Hmong guide will accompany us and explain about the history of these tribesmen and their interaction with their environment. You will pass former opium fields, enjoy magnificent vistas, collect seeds of trees which benefits the tree planting program of the village and participate in and learn about local life in this village. This three day trekking give you a chance to explore the beautiful Huay Nam Dang and Mae Taeng area. You will stay overnight in a fantastically located hilltribe village with great views over the forest and the valleys. The trip ends with a fabulous bamboo rafting down Mae Taeng River.

Over these 3 days we will get the chance test our rafting skills while bamboo rafting. We walk approximately 4-5 hours each day along sloping hills and valleys. We leave our big packs in storage in Chiang Mai and take an overnight bag. Each person is required to be able to carry their own pack as our porters will be carrying food.
