Chiang Rai is home to many minorities. During this trek you will meet Akha, Lahu and Karen. You will stay overnight in a Red Lahu village, travel by longtail boat on the Kok River and ride elephants. Two wonderful days, back to nature.

Day 1: Elephant Safari

Description:
Your guide and driver will meet you at the hotel. First stop will be at the hilltribe museum, a nice exhibition on the tribal culture you will encounter during our trip.Transfer to the boat pier on the Kok River. By local longtailboat we make the short trip to the Karen village Ban Ruam Mitr. Here you will make an elephant ride of about one hour. It’s a scenic ride with wonderful views over the surrounding countryside. The elephant ride ends at a Yao village. Here your guide will explain about these mountain people with their remarkable traditional dress. We start trekking to an Akha village where we will have lunch. After lunch we continue hiking to a Red Lahu village where we will spend the night. You can explore the village or help your guide cooking dinner. After a delicious meal there will be time to share stories and your guide will introduce you to the Red Lahu people.Overnight at a village house.
Day 2: Red Lahu Village – Chiang Rai

Description:
After an early rise enjoy a hearty breakfast. We say goodbye to the villagers and continue our adventure into the mountains. First destination will be the Huay Mae Sai waterfall where we will take a break for a swim. We will continue trekking to an Akha village and a Thai village. Lunch will be on the way. In the early afternoon we will meet our driver who will bring us back to Chiang Rai.

- Fully charged batteries or even an extra battery for your camera.
- 1000-1500 Thai Baht per person in small notes (not bigger than 500 Thai Baht and plenty of 100 Thai Baht notes). This is for souvenirs, drinks and tips.
