Our two day/one night luxury trekking to the Palong village Pang Daeng Nai is the first program of its kind Tiger Trail Thailand is offering.
This program offers a high-quality experience while it doesn’t take away the attraction of an overnight stay in an authentic tribal village.
We use the most comfortable transportation available, offer a choice of dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner* and make the overnight experience as comfortable as possible under the circumstances.
Unlimited drinking water, beer, soft drinks, tea and coffee is included as well.The only thing you will have to carry on the trek is your camera. We will take care of your luggage.We give you an leaflet with information about the Palong, in whose village you will spend the night. This leaflet contains general information but also a short language section that will enable you to communicate with your hosts.

Day 1: Hike to the Palong Village

Description:
Your guide will meet you this morning at the hotel. Drive north in a 4X4 luxury vehicle into the mountains near Chiang Dao. Our first stop will be at a local market. Your guide will do some shopping for the coming days and he will take you along and explain all about the different ingredients he will be using for meals during the trek. He will let you taste some delicious local sweets.We will stop at an elephant camp along the way. If you are interested you can watch an elephant show here**. Start your exhilarate bamboo rafting trip. Your helmsmen will maneuver the raft through the gentle rapids.
Continue to a Karen village where we will have lunch. After lunch we will start trekking to the Palong village Pang Daeng Nai. The trail has a few steep hills but most of the trek is relatively easy. All together we walk about four hours with many stops along the way. Your guide will explain about certain trees and plants in the forest. There will be time for taking pictures. After arrival in the village you will meet your host.
You can relax, explore the village or learn some Thai cooking by helping your guide prepare the dinner.He will explain you about the herbs and ingredients he uses. After dinner your guide will take you to one of the village houses where you will meet some of the villagers. The Palong are originally from Myanmar and fled to Thailand in 1984.Overnight will be in our village house in Pang Daeng Nai. We have prepared a comfortable bed for you.
Day 2: Palong Village - Chiang Mai

Description:
After the sounds of nature and the locals woke you up, your guide will prepare breakfast. After breakfast we will walk around the village. Your guide will explain about the Royal Project that has been initiated in this village. After this we will continue trekking to a Karen village. Lunch will be at local restaurant. Drive back to Chiang Mai by 4x4 luxury vehicle. Our last stop on the way back will be at one of Chiang Mai’s famous orchid nurseries. We will drop you at your hotel around 4 pm.

Things to Bring:
- Short sleeve shirts for the day time (bring a spare one, just in case)
- Long sleeves for the evening (especially in the winter Nov - Feb it can be a bit cold)
- Shoes with good grip (especially in the raining season from May - Sep)

- Fully charged batteries or even an extra battery for your camera.
- 1000-1500 Thai Baht per person in small notes (not bigger than 100 Thai Baht). This is for souvenirs, drinks and tips.
Notes:
* You will be able to choose 4 dishes per meal. Your guide will give you these options on the eve of the trekking.
** If you wish to include an elephant show and elephant ride we will do this at the Chiang Dao Elephant camp on the morning of day 1. Departure time will be an hour earlier then.
*** Due to weather conditions and other conditions on the ground we might have to adjust the itinerary of this trekking. If it is necessary to adjust the program we will always make sure that the quality of your experience and your personal safety are safeguarded.Please respect local customs and traditions. We will give you a document named "code of conduct in the village". Read it before you go on your trek. Dress conservatively in the village. Please refrain from or, at least minimize, the intake of alcoholic beverages while you are in the village.
