Viang Pa Pao is the southwesternmost district of Chiang Rai Province, northern Thailand. Viang Pa Pao is located in a picturesque green valley surrounded by mountains. Attractions include Bo Nam Ron (hotspring), Khun Chae National Park with steep terrain and several hilltops and cliffs over 1,400 metre high.
Viang Pa Pao is a beautiful, relatively untouched area north of Chiang Mai. In Viang Pa Pao district there are numerous tribal villages of Lahu, Lisu, Akha, Hmong and Karen. Tiger Trail Thailand developed a range of treks in this wonderful area. In the area where we walk there are no elephants and no bamboo rafts. Focus of the trek is one the tribal people and the way they interact with their natural environment. These private program are for trekkers with a more than average physical condtion who want to enjoy an authentic trek through an area that gets very few visitors. You will be accompanied by a very experienced guide who will give you an intriguing insight into the lives of the Northern Thai hilltribes and the flora and fauna of the area.
