it has been a few months ago that we made a cycling tour organized by Tiger Trail Thailand. Only today I was finishing the photo book of our Thailand trip and I still can retrieve the feeling we got over there. It was like unwrapping a present each day. One of the highlights was the cycling trip north of Chiang Mai. We're dutch, so used to cycling , but this was a completely different experience. Frans took us along the beautiful scenery, the temple complex, the textile factory and the orchards full of fresh fruits.
We happened to find Tiger Trail in Google when we planed to go to Chiang Mai a few weeks ago. After a few emails back and forth we got into a sort of custom made biking trip for our family. Frans Betgem, personally came along with us as a tour leader which was very nice as he knows the area very well. The tour was very exciting with local market, temples and country side villages. We enjoyed it so much. Bea, our second tour guide was telling us all about the cultures and traditions with her tremendous and impressive knowledge that made the trip more enjoyable and interesting.
My parents and I spent the day with Tiger Trail Thailand and I cant recommend them enough! We really appreciated the local knowledge and the passion of our host for the day. We like to get away from the usually touristy spots and we were treated to a fantastic festival with VERY few tourists!
The team at Tiger Trails looked after us impeccably! A great company, highly recommended! Thanks for a seriously SUPER day!
During our stay in Chiang Mai in July we made a cycling trip and a two trek with Tiger Trail. We were provided fantastic, brand new comfortable sport bikes, with 24 gears (quite a difference compared to the old bikes we had in Bangkok). And a helmet off course for my wife, our two children (11-13) and myself. A very experienced and entertaining guide took us on a wonderful trip to the old city Lamphun. On our way to Lamphun we made several interesting (and tasty) stops.
We had a fabulous time on an overnight trek with SIngha. From our pick up at the airport, the trek itself and cooking dinner, he was organized, competent, informative, and funny! During the trek, I had an allergic reaction (hives) from something I had brushed against. SIngha provided a soothing balm that did the trick. After the hike, he gave me an impromptu lesson on using a sling shot. By dinner, I was pretty good shot!
We flew in from Bangkok at 8 am and we were picked up from the airport. Our guide, Singa was wonderful. He was very friendly and quite fluent in English. The trek started with 2 hr drive to a village where Singa picked up some groceries for dinner. We hiked 3 hrs to a Lahu village. The trail was lush green with river on one side. Very pretty. It was a bit steep and challenging but worth the effort. We got to the village where we made dinner with the help of some Lahu people.
This 2-day-trip to the Palong was the best trip we have ever had: fascinating, informative, challenging, thrilling, funny, culinary ...Ran was a great guide with a lot of knowledge of nature, the tribes and the Thai living- he had also a great sense of humor so that we've enjoyed the whole trip with him very much. The most impressive thing was the visit of the school, where our children donated pens and booklets to the children. It was haunting to see how people live and how school is there.I can highly recommend booking with Tiger Trail.
I want to thank you for the custom tour that you arranged for my family in June with our wonderful guide, Pornchai. My husband and I had been trekking out of Chiang Mai 29 years ago, and this time we brought our adult daughter along. We saw and learned so much from Mr. Pornchai!
Thoroughly enjoyed my two days one night experience. My guide, Pornchai was excellent, knowledge, good communities skills. I was traveling alone and in the overnight village and at much felt deserted as I was left to eat alone.
The trek was great and Chai gave clear explanations of flora & fauna and was very instruction about village life.
