Description:

We will pick you up from your hotel in Bangkok at 7am for the 3-hour transfer to Khao Yai. Here you will meet your naturalist guide and head into the park for a nature walk for the rest of the day through the lush evergreen forest that dominates the central regions of Khao Yai National Park. Porters are on hand to carry food and other supplies. We will take a break from walking and you will have time to relax while our staff will prepare a delicious traditional Thai lunch for you, right here in the forest. After the walk you will have some time to freshen up before we head out again to visit the created mineral licks. Larger mammals visit these licks, and it’s a convenient way for the park rangers to keep an eye on the population. After this we’ll continue on the so-called crocodile trail for a short trek. Next we will drive to Khao Kheaw viewpoint to watch some bird species. In the evening we will drive to the park headquarter for a night safari spotlighting drive. We have a chance to encounter wildlife of all sizes; possible sighting includes: civets, elephants, deer, porcupines, wild dogs etc. After a long day in the park we will leave for our resort at around 8:30pm. But before you check in to your comfortable rooms, we will stop at traditional Thai restaurant for a nutritious dinner.

Walking distance: about 4km.

Day 2: Khao Yai National Park
Meals:
Breakfast
Lunch
Description:

We wake up early this morning and head out on an early morning walk to the wildlife watchtower. Possible sightings from here include birds such as the great hornbill. This tower will also give us the opportunity to watch early morning activities at the nearby mineral lick spot. After this we will set out on a full-day nature trek with your experienced naturalist leader. Again our porters will be there, carrying essentials for breakfast and another delicious lunch in the forest. At the end of the walk your private transport will be waiting for us and we will start to drive back and leave the park for now. We drive to the so-called Elephant Mountain to experience a very special event. Once dusk sets in, millions and millions of bats will start flying out of cave up on the hill. It’s a truly spectacular sight to see the bats swirling around in a seemingly endless stream. We will drive back to our hotel. This evening you are free to have dinner on your own.

Walking distance: about 5km.

Day 3: Khao Yai National Park - Bangkok

Description:

This morning we will enter the national park around 8:30am for a nature trek that focuses on the lives of the parks gibbon population. We will try to view these amazing forest acrobats in action. Their weird and funny sounds carry a long way trough the quiet forest in the morning, but it’s not always easy to spot them up high between the dense blankets of leaves, high up in the trees. We will have lunch near the famous Haew Suwat Waterfall, the most beautiful waterfall in Khao Yai. After a relaxing Thai lunch, we will start to make our way back, with another stop at the Haew Narok Waterfall on the way, we will head out of the forest around 3:30pm to transfer you back to your hotel in Bangkok or the airport.  This is the end of this tour.
