You will be picked up from the hotel at 0830. We transfer you to Ban Khanomtom in Saraphi, a district about 12 kms south of Chiang Mai. Here your bikes will be waiting for you.
After short instructions we will take off riding along the Ping River. The area we will pass through today is a very fertile area due to the proximity of the river. Virtually everything grows here. We will see lots of fruit trees and taste some of the fruit in season. Dominant in this area are longan plantations, in Thai called Lamyai. We will cycle through endless plantations and villages. We will stop at a local house and meet the people of Saraphi. We cycle along the Ping river with wonderful views of Doi Suthep and Wat Prathat Doi Suthep, the temple you will visit later in the afternoon.
Your guide will explain about the many sorts of fruit that grow around here. Saraphi has an abundance of beautiful Buddhist temples and we will visit the most beautiful.
Lunch will be at a local restaurant. The bicycle part of the tour ends in Ban Tawai, the best place for buying souvenirs in Chiang Mai. After lunch we spend some time shopping in Ban Tawai, if you wish.
After this we will drive to Wat Doi Suthep. Wat Doi Suthep is a temple perched on Doi Suthep, a mountain of about 1600 metres high (‘doi’ means mountain in Northern Thai language) that dominates the skyline of Chiang Mai. The temple is most venerated of Chiang Mai and a visit to Wat Doi Suthep is really a must. From the temple you have a commanding view over Chiang Mai. Return to the hotel at around 5 PM.
