TBKKB03 - Bikes, Boats and Trains Tour
Exciting on biking, boating and train. This full day exploration will take you to the outskirts of Bangkok by way of classic railway and back using the ultra-modern city icon, the skytrain. Experience the scintillating beauty combined with amazing contrasts: modern lifestyles derived from classic traditions, Buddhist temples coexisting harmoniously with Muslim mosques, and frenetic urban sprawl giving way to gentle rural landscapes.
Explore Bangkok by bike, boat and train
Transfer on own to the Grand China Princess Hotel in Chinatown. This is where our bicycle tour starts. Tea or coffee will be served while you will get a short briefing on the trip on the lobby of the hotel. After you have selected a suitable bicycle we will start the trip.
We will start cycling through a unique part of Chinatown before we will board the train ride that will bring us to the outskirts of the city. This area is very green and very relaxed, great for cycling. We will cycle on elevated paths through plantations and coconut tree forests. It is hard to believe that this is also Bangkok, such a contrast with the concrete jungle we left behind. You will pass modern mansions next to traditional wooden houses on stilts as well as rice paddies.
We will enjoy a delicious local lunch before we get on the bike again for a visit of the amazing “disco“ temple. After this we board a longtail-boat for a trip through a seldom-visited canal (‘klong’). We disembark at a market. Next we will board the Skytrain, the ultramodern form of mass transit in Bangkok. Enjoy the views over Bangkok. Return through small alleys to the Grand China Princess Hotel where this tour will end. Transfer back to your hotel on your own.
