TCBT07 - Khao Luang National Park Trekking – 5 days
This 5 day trip starts and ends in Nakhon Sri Thammarat. Khao Luang is one of the most beautiful national parks of Thailand with undoubtedly the most beautiful waterfalls. You will stay in a village homestay and experience local village life before embarking on the three day trek to the summit of Khao Luang, the highest mountain of Southern Thailand. You will trek through rainforest, swim in waterfalls and enjoy the birdlife.

Day 1: Arrival – Prom Loke homestay

Fly from Bangkok to Nakhon Sri Thammarat on FD 3200 0645-0800 **booked on own**
Meet the representative of the Prom Loke community at the airport. He/She will transfer you to Prom Loke village. Along the way we will stop at the Karom waterfall and at the park headquarters of Khao Luang National Park. Drive to Prom Loke village. You will meet your host family.
Enjoy lunch. After lunch enjoy a relaxed cycling trip around the village. You will visit a house where mushrooms are being cultivated and a house where local ‘moonshine whisky’ is being produced.
Enjoy a local dinner with host family. After dinner learn how to make batik from your hosts. Batik is a way to decorate textiles.
Overnight in a comfortable homestay.
Day 2: Prom Loke homestay – trekking

Description:
Enjoy breakfast at your homestay. Today we will start trekking in Khao Luang National Park. You can leave luggage behind in the homestay. We will be transferred to the Prom Loke waterfall, not far from the village. Enjoy this wonderful waterfall until we start our trek up the mountain. We will trek through beautiful lush tropical forest. We will lunch along the way.In the late afternoon we will arrive at our campsite where will stay overnight. Your guide will cook dinner.Overnight in a hammock
Day 3: Trekking

Description:
After breakfast, start trekking whole day to the top of the mountain. Lunch will be along the way. We will walk through forest and sometimes have magnificent views over the lowlands. We will have time to spot hornbills and other species of birds. At the end of the afternoon we will reach the lower peak of Khao Luang National Park. We will set up camp close to the top of the mountain. Your guide will cook dinner and after dinner there will be time for stories and jokes. Overnight in a hammock.
Day 4: Trekking - Prom Loke homestay

Description:
After breakfast we will start our descent towards Prom Loke waterfall. We will have lunch in the forest along the way. We will arrive at Prom Loke waterfall at around 4 PM. We have time for a refreshing swim before we return to Prom Loke village. Overnight in a comfortable homestay.
Day 5: Prom Loke

Description:
After breakfast we will transfer you back to Nakhon Sri Thammarat for you onwards travel. We can drop you off at the bus- or trainstation or the airport.
