TTFT02 - Doi Inthanon Family Adventure Tour
This is one of our best rated day trips in a special family style. We leave Chiang Mai early morning and drive to the summit of Thailand's highest mountain, from which you can enjoy great views. This is one of Thailand's most beautiful National Parks, and it boasts a great diversity in flora and fauna. On the summit there is a short nature walk through unspoiled cloud forest, a truly beautiful trail, yet not difficult. From here we will continue down the mountain and make another beautiful nature walk, the length depends on your personal preferences and the routing on the season as well. We enjoy our delicious picnic lunch and continue to trek to a majestic waterfall (again, depending on season and weather). We will have to cross the river several times as the water cascades down the hill, some parts have rudimentary bridges, but still you might have to walk trough the water a bit here and there, so expect to get your feet wet. We can continue this trail all the way to a local Karen village. The Karen are the biggest etnic hilltribe group in Thailand and our professional guide will tell you all about their history and show you around in their village. After exploring the village we will head back to Chiang Mai in our private and comfortable minibus.
Enjoy the truly beautiful nature, waterfalls and stunning views of Doi Inthanon, Thailands highest mountain
We will pick you up from your hotel around 7:00 - 7:30 am in the morning for an early departure to Doi Inthanon National Park. Doi Inthanon is the highest mountain of Thailand (2,776 m). It was declared a national park in 1972. The park boast the greatest diversity of forest types and bird species found in any single park in the country. The park has some beautiful waterfalls. We will drive up to the summit of Doi Inthanon where we will embark on a beautiful nature trail, the Kaew Mae Pan Nature trail. Here we walk for a couple of hours through unspoilt cloud forest.
Enjoy a picnic lunch after which we will make an easy trek along a majestic waterfall. A local Karen guide will accompany us. We will have to cross the river several times. This multi-tiered waterfall cascades wildly towards the Karen village Ban Mae Klang Luang, where our trek ends. On the way back we will visit a local school if time and day permit.
