TTST02 - Singha’s Trekking in Huay Nam Dang National Park
We have scheduled four special departures in May and June for a special Huay Nam Dang trekking, guided by Mr. Patcharadanai Suthongsa, nickname Singha.

Tiger Trail Thailand has organized four special departures in his favorite area, Huay Nam Dang National Park. These forests are the watershed areas of the Pai, Ping and Taeng rivers.
On this special trip you will visit villages of the Red Lahu and Karen tribes. You will hike through pine and evergreen forest of the national park as well through ricepaddies and cornfields. Views are magnificent. Enjoy the hospitality of the people of Huay Nam Dang and you will learn about their customs, traditions and history. In each village we will try to teach you a couple of words and sentences in the local language. You will also taste local tribal dishes.

Between 0700 and 0800 Singha will meet you at the hotel. Our hilltribe adventure begins. Our first stop will be at Mae Malai where Singha will do his shopping for the coming days at the local market. Continue to the Mork Fah waterfall where you can have a swim and relax. Enjoy a local lunch at a roadside restaurant. After lunch we will continue to the Pong Deuad Hot Springs where we will stop briefly. From here we will start trekking. We will trek for about four hours through the forest. We will have enough time to explore the forest and enjoy Singha’s explanations about trees, plants and flowers. If you take time there is so much to see in a forest.
After arrival in the Karen village Pong Noi Singha will start to prepare dinner. After dinner there will time for stories, jokes and dancing around the campfire.

Breakfast at the village. After breakfast we will start trekking. The whole morning we walk through the protected forest until we reach an elephant camp. Here our guide will prepare lunch for us. After lunch we will have some free time with the elephants before starting an exciting one hour elephant ride through the forest.
We will reach the Lahu village Pong Ngan where we will stay overnight. You can explore the village and meet some of the villagers or take a swim in the river which runs next to the village.

Breakfast at the village. Our bamboo rafts are waiting for us. Enjoy a wonderful bamboo raft trip on the Mae Tang River for almost two hours to a Shan village Sob Kai where we will have lunch. Our truck will be waiting for us here. Drive back to Chiang Mai.
